CJP Expands Senior Leadership with Hiring of Brian Hickey as Managing Director.
NEW YORK, September 19, 2007 – Cubitt Jacobs & Prosek Communications (CJP), a leading independent full-service communications firm, today announced that Brian Hickey has joined the company as a Managing Director. With 25 years of communications experience in the financial and professional services, legal and technology industries, Hickey will serve an integral role in the strategic direction of the firm. He will be based in CJP’s New York office.
In his new role, Hickey will be responsible for driving the continued growth of CJP’s financial and professional services practice areas, including private equity and alternative assets, strategic advisors, investment banking, law and consulting. He will also work closely with Partner and CEO Jen Prosek in developing new areas of expansion, while providing strategic-level and creative counsel to clients and staff on a range of matters.
Hickey joins CJP from public relations agency Walek & Associates, where he served as head of the firm’s Financial & Professional Services practice group. Previously, he was the director of communications and media relations at global law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. Prior to his work at Orrick, Hickey was a principal and director of communications for technology investment bank Broadview International (acquired by Jefferies & Co. in 2003), where he established the firm’s first-ever marketing communications group.
He received a BS from New York University with a concentration in journalism, and earlier was a recipient of the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Award. Hickey is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Law Firm Media Professionals and the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), and serves on the Programming Committee for the Metropolitan New York LMA Chapter.
