Cubitt Jacobs & Prosek is Among Finalists For PR Agency of the Year Award

Agency is Also Finalist for Business-To-Business Campaign of the Year

New York and Stratford, CONN. – January 20, 2005 – Cubitt Jacobs & Prosek (CJP) Communications is one of five finalists nominated for the "2004 Public Relations Agency of the Year" and the "Business-to-Business Campaign of the Year" in a national awards program sponsored by PRWeek magazine. CJP is the only Connecticut firm to be nominated in both categories.

"It’s an honor to be chosen based on the merits of our work and accomplishments," said Jennifer Prosek, partner at CJP. "We’ve enjoyed phenomenal growth in the past couple of years, despite the economic downturn, and we are delighted to be recognized for providing creative, strategic campaigns and exceptional service to our clients."

PRWeek announced the finalists in its January 10 issue. The category winners will be announced March 3 during an awards dinner at Tavern on the Green in New York.

CJP has been nominated as Small Agency of the Year. It’s also a candidate for best Business-to-Business Campaign for work done on behalf of its client, executive search firm Russell Reynolds Associates.

CJP created and executed a themed public relations campaign, entitled Business Evolves -Leadership Endures, for Russell Reynolds Associates to announce its newly-formed CEO and Executive Board Services Practice that included a book launch for two of its executives. The book, which defines how true leadership endures and how Russell Reynolds’ experts identify enduring leadership traits, was published by CJP’s publishing arm Easton Press Studio in Easton, Conn.

CJP was founded in 1990 in Stratford, Conn., by Dan Jacobs, a former communications executive at GE Capital in Stamford. Prosek, who earned her MBA from Columbia University, became a partner in 1995 and opened the firm’s New York office in 2001. Jacobs still manages operations at the firm’s Stratford headquarters.

In 2003, Prosek forged a relationship with London-based Cubitt Communications so the firm could provide international services. With this expansion, CJP now employs nearly 50 professionals within its New York and London offices, and its Stratford, Conn. headquarters.

"The company has grown considerably, adding an office in the Empire State Building and adding an expert team in investor relations, graphic design and web design, which complements the outstanding team we’ve had for many years in media and community relations and issues management," said Partner Dan Jacobs. "This is a tremendous honor in our field."

Last year, CJP was ranked as one of the top 75 public relations firms in the United States. The rankings were issued by the J.R. O’Dwyer Co., an industry organization that ranks independently-owned public relations firms. In 2001, the company was ranked at No. 94, surging ahead 32 places in two years.
